New Yamaha R15 - Midnight Black

Yamaha, the famous Japanese based motorcycle manufacturer is planning to tie-up with Mahindra 2-Wheelers to become more successful in the 150cc segment. The partnership could also help Yamaha to promote its range of scooters that Yamaha is planning to bring to India soon. The tie-up is mostly related to the utilization of manufacturing facilities and marketing strategies to rival the likes of Suzuki, Honda, Bajaj and Hero who have already have a very strong presence in that segment.

Sources close to the development have revealed that the comprehensive discussions are still going on. Yamaha is a company with many investors so the situation is a bit complicated and there is not going to be a straight forward outcome soon enough. Till date, nothing has been finalised. The talks have not reached the investment stage as of now. Mahindra 2-Wheelers can be in equal benefit with this tie-up to re-enter the market after its first product, the Stallio failed miserably in the market forcing the company to withdraw the bike at one point of time. The partnership could also result in some kind of technology sharing or licensing agreement where either one will have the opportunity to use its partner’s components.
