2013 Ford Fiesta Sedan Facelift

After unveiling the facelifted Fiesta hatchback, Ford has now unveiled the facelifted Fiesta sedan at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show. The Ford Fiesta is an important vehicle for Brazil and a minor refresh is just what was needed to make things fresh for the car. The 2013 Ford Fiesta follows the American automaker’s latest design language, which is very Aston Martin like. This is just a mid-career facelift, till the next generation model arrives in 2015.

The changes to the Ford Fiesta Facelift include a new front end, new bumpers, new grille, new headlights, new bonnet, new tail lights, new reflectors and blackened lower half of the rear bumper (to reduce the visual mass at the rear). The vehicle also gets new alloy wheels. The interiors get minor changes too, with a redesigned center console, new instrument cluster and new seat trim. There are no mechanical changes to the car and the Fiesta continues to be powered by the 1.6-litre petrol engine in Brazil.

Ford will bring the facelifted Fiesta to India sometime in 2013. The company’s current focus is the EcoSport and post the launch of the compact SUV, the Fiesta facelift will be launched. Although mechanical changes haven’t been done to the Brazilian version of the facelifted Fiesta, we can expect Ford to plonk in the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine in the updated Fiesta somewhere in 2014. The EcoBoost engine offers splendid performance without compromising on fuel efficiency.
