BMW India launched the new 2012 3-Series (F30) today. The event took place at NCPA (National Centre for the Performing Arts) in Mumbai. The Bavarian automaker had showcased all the generations of 3-Series at the launch, right from the original first generation model (launched in 1975) to the latest sixth generation model. A new generation of the 3-Series is launched every 7 years on an average. There were two F30 3-Series cars on display (black 320d and red 328i). Sachin Tendulkar along with Andreas Schaaf (President, BMW India) unveiled the car to the media.

The 2012 BMW 3-Series has been widely acknowledged by global media as the best car in its segment. Some have also gone and said that the new 3-Series is the best BMW to have ever rolled out of Bavaria, which says a lot about the car. Not only is the F30 BMW 3-Series bigger in all dimensions, its faster and more efficient as well. It is a huge leap over the E90 3-Series. BMW currently offers 5 variants of the new 3-Series across a petrol and diesel engine each. The 320d and 328i are both turbocharged motors, producing ample amount of power and torque. The company will bring in the 320i petrol variant later, which will become the entry level of the 3-Series.
