2014 Hero Xtreme Studio Shot

Hero MotoCorp is silently updating its entire range of models for 2014. After the Splendor motorcycle and Pleasure scooter, the company has updated the 150cc Xtreme with a host of changes to the styling and an improved powertrain on the motorcycle. The version is only called Xtreme and not ‘Xtreme Sports’ as showcased last year. The Xtreme competes with the Bajaj Pulsar set to get a facelift, Yamaha FZ models and the Honda CB Trigger in the segment.

Changes on the 2014 Hero Xtreme include a new visor with highbrow position headlights, new tail lights with LED light guides, new indicators, wider 110/90/18 rear tyre and dual finish muffler. The Xtreme also gets an all-new instrument console with a completely revised design featuring a digital display, engine immobiliser and side stand indicator. Hero has also integrated an under seat mobile charger socket, a smart feature indeed. Overall the design is a major departure from the older model with sporty styling cues, lending a fresh appeal to the bike.

The 2014 Hero Xtreme will continue to be powered by the Honda sourced 149.2cc engine, single-cylinder engine producing 14.4 BHP of power at 8500 RPM and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM, which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Stopping power comes from a single 240 mm disc brake at the front and an optional 220 mm disc brake at the rear. The standard variant gets a 130 mm drum brake setup at the rear.

Prices for the 2014 Hero Xtreme start at Rs. 67,364/- while the single front and rear disc model is priced at Rs. 70,678/- (ex-showroom, Pune). Dealerships across the country have commenced bookings for the new Xtreme at Rs. 1000/-. The 150cc model is available in five new colours namely black, red, silver, orange and blue.
