The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift was spied in China last week that revealed an all new dashboard and visual changes. It is expected to be launched in India by mid-2017.
The Ford EcoSport is a compact SUV launched back in 2013 in India. The American automaker has a reputation of building performance based cars with an affordable price tag. The EcoSport is the one millionth car Ford India manufactured last year. This sub 4-metre compact SUV was appreciated by customers in emerging markets like India and Brazil. Recently, the SUV was spied in China and it sported a revamped dashboard and cosmetic changes. The car is expected to go on sale in 2017.
The facelifted Ford EcoSport will have a redesigned front sporting a new grille. As seen on the test mule, the car has a sharper look as the side repeaters have been shifted to the bumper like that of the Maruti Vitara Brezza. The headlamps might get projector and daytime running lights. The tail lights might get a few changes as well. Ford is aiming for an aggressive look for the EcoSport.
The SUV gets a completely new dashboard that looks more premium than the existing one featuring silver and chrome materials. It sports a large centre console. The steering wheel, instrument cluster and the automatic climate control unit have been revised. The instrument cluster sports large dials and the infotainment system has been redesigned. The car also gets hexagonal central air conditioning vents.
The China-spec Ford EcoSport is likely to get a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine that produces 124 PS of power and a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine that churns out upwards of 110 PS of power. The SUV will be mated to a 5-speed manual or 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. In addition to the changes under the hood, the Ford EcoSport Facelift will sport some cosmetic changes.
