Honda has decided to not give any exterior design updates to the 2018 Jazz in India.

2018 Honda Jazz will get an interior makeover with a new infotainment system and vanity mirrors

It has been confirmed that the 2018 Honda Jazz design will remain the same, a few days after the reported about the complete feature list. It is a surprising move by Honda, who take the Indian market very seriously.

The decision to not give the 2018 Honda Jazz any design updates is even more disappointing considering the fact that its global version which is already on sale, gets newly designed bumpers and LED headlamps. The new bumpers take the overall length of the car to 4.1-metres while the Indian version will continue to be 3955 mm long. However, the sub 4-metre length of the India version puts it in the lower excise duty bracket allowing Honda to keep the prices low.

On the features side though, Honda has given it all the bells and whistles required to compete with the competition. The base variant S will now get rear parking sensors, speed sensing auto door lock, front arm rest and driver and passenger side vanity mirrors. The middle variant V, will get paddle shift (CVT only) while the CVT and diesel cars will get cruise control, smart trunk lock with key release, Honda smart key system and push start/stop button with white and red illumination. The range topping VX variant will get a 7.0-inch advanced infotainment system with capacitive touchscreen, seamless smartphone connectivity using Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering mounted controls, IR remote control and signature LED extended tail light. Safety features like ABS with EBD and airbags will be standard across all variants.

Mechanically, the 2018 Honda Jazz will remain unchanged and will continue to be offered with two engine options. One is the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol producing 90 HP at 6000 RPM and 110 Nm of torque at 4800 RPM. The other engine is the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel producing 100 HP at 3600 RPM and 200 Nm of torque at 1750 RPM. Even though Honda will give manual and CVT gearboxes as options, only the petrol-CVT combination will be offered and no diesel-CVT like the new Amaze.

The official launch of the 2018 Honda Jazz is slated for 19th July, 2018. The cars are expected to reach the showroom on the same day itself. The bookings are expected to begin on 15th July, 2018 and deliveries will commence soon after.
