2018 KTM Duke 200 Side Exhaust
The 2018 Duke 200 for the Indonesian market gets a side mounted exhaust, while the India-spec still does job with an underbelly unit

The 2018 KTM Duke 200 was recently showcased at the Indonesia International Motor Show with a side mounted exhaust. The exhaust unit looks identical to the one seen on the Duke 250 and 390. As a result of the side mounted exhaust, the company claims there is improved torque delivery and a distinctive exhaust note.

The 2018 KTM Duke 200 retains the same old design language and according to sources, the Austrian bike maker was offering discounts and offers on the entire line-up of bikes while the Duke 200 also had a special offer for the exhaust. This also means that the exhaust was being promoted as an accessory. However, the model with the side mounted end can appears to have the catalytic converter under its belly, apart from the usual place inside the bulbous exhaust can.

The Indonesian-spec Duke 200 is identical to the India-spec model in terms of power and torque figures but the two motorcycles differ in weight. The latter is 4.5 kgs heavier than the former and a disappointing fact is that the Indonesian Duke 200 gets ABS while the Indian version doesn’t get it, even as an option! The 199.5cc single-cylinder and liquid-cooled engine produces 24.6 HP of power (19 kW) of power and 19.2 Nm of torque. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
