The S-Class facelift debuts with a host of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)

Safety and After Sales Service – The German automaker has thrown in a plethora of safety features in the facelifted S-Class. In addition to the 8 airbags, adaptive cruise control, adaptive LED headlamps and 360-degrees camera there are a host of driver assistance features like Active Braking Assist, Active Steering Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Parking Assist (it accelerates, brakes and also changes gears, basically it’s fully autonomous). Mercedes has been the best when it comes to after-sales service. Not only does it have a good reach across the country, the quality of the service also has been the best among the luxury car manufacturers.

The S-Class gets 3 LED strips in its headlight, the E-Class gets 2 while the C-Class gets 1, talk about hierarchy!

Verdict – So the big question at the end of it would be, should you buy the 2018 S-Class? There are a few competitors out there, the BMW 7-Series and the Audi A8 are currently on top of their form and then you have the Jaguar XJ too. Some of the driving assists on the S-Class have been available on the Volvo cars for a long time though we find the autonomous braking bit quite exciting. But, you don’t just buy an S-Class for all this, you buy it for the sheer opulence and luxury this car provides while offering the most comfortable rear seat in the business. Now, with the in-line 6-cylinder configuration, it is not only more powerful and will appeal to those who like to take the wheel once in a while. It is also is the cleanest and the only production car to meet BS-6 emission standards on BS-4 fuel, which in its own way is a feat in itself. Although we did miss the ‘Magic Body Control’ on this facelift, it doesn’t make the S-Class any less appealing. With the new goodies onboard, the Mercedes S-Class still continues to lead the upper end of the luxury segment and how.
