The Mercedes S-Class. Do we even need to tell you guys anything about this amazing vehicle? It is one of the best cars in the world with some powerful engine options, whole load of features and goodies with the latest technology that you can’t even think off. Mercedes launched the 2014 S-Class in India at Rs. 1.57 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi). Now, the automaker has displayed the S500 at the 2014 Auto Expo.
The Mercedes S-Class comes with almost 500 LEDs placed at various places in the car. The brake light has three brightness levels to indicate brake force. Mercedes wanted to add a retro touch to the S-Class and hence added a 2-spoke steering wheel. The S-Class has 14 pneumatic massage chambers with 6 massage modes. Since the vehicle is loaded with electronics, Mercedes has installed over 100 motors to power them. The audio system comes with 24 speakers. You also get 3D maps for navigation and in-built WiFi. The global model of the S-Class comes with 14 airbags while the Indian model comes with 8.
The Mercedes S500 is powered by a 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 453 HP of power and 700 Nm of torque. The engine is matched to a 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic gearbox. Mercedes will also launch a diesel version of the 2014 S-Class i.e. S350 CDI in April 2014.
