2021 KTM RC 390 Spied
That front end would not be liked by many

Looks like KTM is busy testing the 2021 RC 390 (which looks production ready) that is expected to be unveiled globally sometime this year.

It goes without saying that the current RC 390 has a huge fan following in India. Its scalpel sharp looks and strong performance won many a heart. The new model looks to build on those traits, while also being a bit more liveable this time around.

For starters, KTM has given the motorcycle new looks. Upfront, the headlight design is the most polarising thing about the bike, and some might like it, while others may loathe it.

Whatever the case might be, KTM has integrated a bigger flyscreen to offer the driver better wind protection and there are new indicators and DRLs, along with new mirrors too.

Also, the fairing has been redesigned and looks a bit wider. All these changes should help riders who might take the bike over long distances.

Offering better ergonomics must have been the target while developing the motorcycle, for the 2021 KTM RC 390 spotted testing has a new handlebar, while the seating position is not too aggressive.

A bigger tank will ensure that one can cover more ground between fill-ups and the subframe has also been revised. Go round the back and the familiar, thin tail light unit can be seen along with slim indicators.

In addition, the exhaust unit has been revised as KTM is working on making the motorcycle Euro 5 compliant. Speaking of which, to comply with the latest and stringent emissions regulations, KTM has also reworked on the engine.

While the power output is likely to remain the same, the bike might gain a few kg. But, expect it to retain its raw nature even with all the restrictions in place.

As can be seen from the images, the 2021 KTM RC 390 spotted on test has a TFT instrument cluster. KTM will also provide it a bigger front disc to help it stop quicker than before.

Expected to be globally unveiled this year, the 2021 KTM RC 390 will make its way to India by next year and hopefully, will still offer us a wild ride.
