The asking price of the 2022 KTM RC 200, and that of the RC 125, is introductory
KTM has launched the 2022 RC 200 in India with an introductory price tag of Rs. 2.09 lakhs and the 2022 RC 125 at Rs. 1.82 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), today.
Priced similar to the outgoing models, the arrival of these new second-generation RC 200 and RC 125 marks the first global upgrade the RC platform has undergone since 2014.
The new design of the bikes were revealed officially earlier this year. Both feature a stiffer and lighter steel trellis frame, lighter wheels and brakes, hollow front axle, larger airbox, curved radiator, and pillion grab handles.
Further, the bikes have adjustable handlebars, a new LCD digital cluster, larger 13.7-litre fuel tank (earlier 9.5 litres) and integrated position lamp with front indicators.
However, there are differences between the 2 models too. While the new RC 125 makes do with halogen headlight, the RC 200 gets an LED headlamp.
Of course, they have different engines and weight. The new 160 kg RC 200 is powered by a 199.5cc liquid-cooled motor making 25 PS at 10,000 RPM and 19.2 Nm at 8000 RPM.
On the other hand, the new RC 125 is powered by a 124.7cc motor making 15 PS and 12 Nm. The bike weighs 1 kg less than the RC 200.
Both motorcycles feature the same 824 mm seat height, 158 mm of ground clearance, 43 mm WP Apex inverted front fork (120 mm travel) and WP Apex rear shock (150 mm travel).
Similarly, they come with 320 mm front disc with 4-piston radial caliper, 230 mm rear disc with single-piston floating caliper, dual channel ABS. The 200cc bike features Supermoto ABS function in addition.
While the 2022 KTM RC 200 will be available from this month, the new RC 125 will be up for grabs from November. On the other hand, the new generation RC 390 will be launched here in a few months’ time.
