Triumph Reveals The Speed Triple 1200 RX, Gets A Committed Rider’s Triangle & Akrapovic Exhaust
Triumph has revealed the Speed Triple 1200 RX globally. The limited-production bike brings a committed rider’s triangle to the platform. Triumph has decided to produce only 1200 units of the bike, finished in Triumph Performance Yellow paint scheme. Triumph has priced the special edition at GBP 19,000 or Rs. 21.5 Lakh internationally.
Design Changes
The striking yellow paint scheme is visible on the panels above the headlight, fuel tank and rear cowl. There are carbon fibre accents on various components to provide a contrast. To give a committed rider’s position, there are rear-set footpegs and clip-on handlebars.
Engine
The Speed Triple 1200 RX is based on the Speed Triple 1200 RS. The RX is powered by the same 1160cc three-cylinder engine. It produces 180.5 HP and 127 Nm of torque. The 6-speed gearbox with a quickshifter pairs with the triple cylinder engine.
Suspension & Brakes
Triumph has added an Akrapovic exhaust to improve the sound signature of the bike.
The Speed Triple RX uses Ohlins SmartEC3.0 USD forks in the front and a monoshock setup in the rear. The front forks are electronically adjustable and also get Ohlins SD EC steering dampers. There are twin discs at the front with Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers and a disc brake at the rear.
Features
The naked superbike also features a comprehensive electronics suite, which helps the riders handle the massive power figures. There are aids like cornering traction control, engine brake control, cruise control and ABS modes. Additionally, there are also five riding modes, i.e. Road, Rain, Sport, Track and Rider, altering the characteristics of the bike.
Outlook
As of present, there is no confirmation regarding the availability of the Speed Triple RX in India. However, if it becomes available in the country, it is safe to assume that it will be sold in limited numbers.
