Mercedes G-Class Electric

Mercedes-Benz has announced a recall affecting certain units of the G 580 with EQ Technology in India. The recall involves 99 vehicles manufactured between July 12, 2024 and August 18, 2025.

According to the recall information, the issue relates to the wheel bolts fitted on the affected vehicles. The company has identified a possibility that the wheel bolt fastening may not consistently meet the required specifications. Over time, this could lead to the wheel connection loosening during vehicle operation.

If the condition develops, it may negatively affect the vehicle’s driving stability and increase the risk of an accident. As a precautionary measure, Mercedes-Benz is recalling the affected vehicles for inspection and corrective action.

While the manufacturer has not released a detailed public statement regarding the recall process, such service campaigns are typically carried out free of charge. Owners of affected vehicles are expected to be contacted through authorised Mercedes-Benz dealerships and informed about the necessary inspection or repair procedures.

The G 580 is the all-electric version of the iconic G-Class SUV and was introduced as part of Mercedes-Benz’s expanding electric vehicle portfolio. The recall highlights the importance of addressing potential safety-related concerns early, even in newly launched models.
