Citroen C3X Side Test Mule

Citroen C3X spotted testing in Europe, India bound

Citroen C3X, the upcoming crossover sedan based on the CMP platform, has been spotted testing in Southern Europe. The prototype was first spotted in India by MotorBeam but the image wasn’t too clear and we managed to catch only one angle of the car.

This time around fresh spy shots from Europe reveal more details and the overall look of the car. From the front profile it is undoubtedly the Citroen C3, having a very similar front profile like the C3 hatchback. It has a very similar headlight and DRL setup. However, Citroen might make some tweaks to the bumper and grille to differentiate the two products.

On the side profile, the styling up to the B-pillar looks familiar, again like the hatch but things start changing beyond this point. There is a sloping roofline towards the tail which is clearly hidden with this prototype but somehow you can make out from the rear profile image that it slopes down towards the tail.

Again, the tail lights look very similar to the hatchback and the C3 Aircross SUV but you can expect different bumper design. The interior of the Citroen C3X are expected to be carried forward from the hatchback having similar features or maybe some add-ons as this will be positioned above the hatchback and below the C3 Aircross.

It will be powered by the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 110 PS and 190 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. There will be no diesel engine on offer.

Currently, Citroen India is preparing to launch the C3 Aircross in the country. Bookings of the car will commence from 15th September. Launch is scheduled for October and the carmaker will announce the pricing on the day of its launch.
