The Honda Dio gets funky new two-tone colours to attract the youth

Honda India showcased the first six of the fifteen launches planned for 2015 which include new and updates to the old models being added to the lineup. With the Activa 3G being launched just moments back, Honda has also announced upgrades on the 2015 model year Dio moto-scooter. The upgrades though are purely cosmetic and the mechanicals or powertrain get no changes compared to the outgoing version.

Updates on the 2015 Honda Dio have been made to lend a fresh appeal to the youth-centric scooter. The scooter gets new stickers, side panel graphics and a sporty logo giving a trendy look. The Dio will be available in new dual-tone colour shades on the palette which include Jazz Blue Metallic, Sports Red, Candy Palm Green and Black. The updated scooter will go on sale in the country by the end of March 2015.

In terms of powertrain, the 2015 Honda Dio continues with the same 109.2cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine as the outgoing model that is tuned to produce 8 BHP of power at 7000 RPM and 8.77 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM, paired to a CVT transmission. Suspension duties are performed by the same trail link suspension set-up at the front while the rear gets spring-loaded shock absorbers, the updated Honda Dio doesn’t get telescopic forks.

The 2015 Honda Dio will help the manufacturer attract a larger set of young buyers and will be competing against the TVS Wego, Hero Pleasure, Mahindra Gusto, Yamaha Ray, Suzuki Let’s and the likes in the segment. Prices for the outgoing Dio start at Rs. 46,709/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
