Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced its plans for FY 2018-19. The company confirms that there will be 18 upgrades to existing products and one all-new launch planned for the fiscal. Post registering a 22% growth last year, the automaker is planning for a third consecutive year of double-digit growth.

To that extent, Honda has earmarked close to Rs. 800 crores of investment outlay for this fiscal and is planning to expand to 6000 sales outlets with key focus on the remote areas of the country. This calendar year, the company will introduce the Honda Joy Club, a customer loyalty programme and plans to expand the Honda Best Deal Network to close to 250 touch points.

Coming to the 2020 plans, the company’s sales, engineering, R&D, purchase and quality departments are working on the primary objective of strengthening the quality and product planning with cost competitiveness ahead of the BS6 implementation. Internally, the automaker has begun the modernisation and unification of production constitution across all plants. This strategic ploy will further help Honda to achieve higher productivity and match product quality to global standards. Externally, the company has shared its BS6 roadmap with its suppliers to ensure effortless transition.
