Hyundai is now offering the Elite i20 and i20 Active with touchscreen infotainment systems on their respective top models. The 7-inch system is the same as that featured on the Creta.

Vehicles coming from the Hyundai stable are very popular thanks to the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy and the amount of equipment each vehicle comes fitted with. When the company looks to introduce a new product in the Indian car market, everyone is well aware of the fact that firstly it will be among the best looking vehicles in its respective segment and secondly, it will come loaded with features. However, the Elite i20 premium hatchback and the i20 Active crossover miss out on something that its rivals are offering in the market, a touchscreen infotainment system.

All of us were aware that Hyundai will soon be updating the segment leading premium hatchback, Elite i20 and its crossover counterpart i20 Active with a touchscreen infotainment system. But this news has now been confirmed and the Korean car maker will be fitting the top trims of the two vehicles with a touchscreen unit. The top end Asta (O) trim of the Elite i20 and top end SX variant of the i20 Active will both be getting a 7-inch AVN system which is also found on the Creta compact SUV.

The new touchscreen unit comes with Bluetooth connectivity, AUX, USB and also doubles up as the display of the rear parking camera that was previously shown on the rearview mirror. Hyundai was more or less forced to add the touchscreen system because the recently launched Honda Jazz (Elite i20’s main competitor) gets the same and it has stacked up quite a few bookings as well. Prices (ex-showroom, Delhi) of the variants that come equipped with the new AVN system are as follows –

  • Hyundai i20 Asta (O) Petrol: Rs. 7.17 lakhs
  • Hyundai i20 Asta (O) Diesel: Rs. 8.28 lakhs
  • Hyundai i20 Active SX Petrol: Rs. 7.92 lakhs
  • Hyundai i20 Active SX Diesel: Rs. 9.17 lakhs
