Kawasaki has just delivered its only 2019 model year Ninja H2R for India. With a price tag of Rs. 72 lakhs, the H2R is twice as expensive as the standard H2.

Kawasaki Ninja H2R
The H2R takes just 26 seconds to reach 400 km/hr top speed from standstill

The power and torque figures of the H2R are higher than the usual, making it the most powerful production bike in India. Here are some mind-boggling facts about the H2R. The H2R has a top speed of 400 km/hr and it reaches its top speed from standstill in just 26 seconds. The in-house designed engine has highly efficient, motorcycle-specific supercharger which acts as the key to achieve its maximum power. The supercharger is highly efficient and has minimal heat gain, which made the intercooler unnecessary, helped greatly to save weight and space. The whole engine was designed to accommodate the higher air pressure from the supercharger as well as ensure high reliability with over 296 BHP output.

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R has been updated for 2019 where it got Brembo’s top of the line dual radial-mount cast aluminium M50 monobloc callipers with large 330 mm discs, a special durable paint on the bodywork that features a special coat that allows scratches to repair themselves. Soft and hard segments in the coat work together as a chemical spring, creating a trampoline effect that absorbs impacts. The bike also got KYB AOS-II racing suspension for the front and Ohlins TTX36 for the rear.

This bike uses forced induction to produce the highest power figure of any factory-built motorcycle in the world – 306 BHP (321 BHP with RAM air) at 14,000 RPM and 165 Nm of torque at 12,500 RPM. It uses a 6-speed dog-ring box for transmission, similar to the ones found on MotoGP motorcycles.

To help tame this monstrous motorcycle, it is equipped with top-notch electronics. Kawasaki has used an inertial measurement unit (IMU) to add a layer of precision to the Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), the Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF), the Kawasaki Launch Control Mode (KLCM) and the Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System (KIBS). The IMU enables inertia along 6 DOF (degrees of freedom) to be monitored. In place of mirrors, the Ninja H2R features CFRP wings mounted on the upper cowl.

The suspension on the H2R is taken care of by a fully-adjustable, 43 mm USD fork and a fully-adjustable monoshock. An aluminium trellis frame lies under all of the carbon-fiber bodywork and a single-sided swingarm that helps keep the kerb weight down to 216 kg. The fuel tank capacity is 17-litres. The H2R isn’t required to meet noise regulations, as it’s a track-only motorcycle, which is why it uses an all-titanium exhaust system made up of header and collector pipes, a joint pipe, and a straight pipe megaphone-style silencer.

There isn’t anything that isn’t manic about this Kawasaki bike, making it one of its kind, which is true for India as it is the only 2019 edition that got delivered. Even the service interval of this hyperbike isn’t according to kms but as per time, with the first service to be done in 15 hours and the second service to be done in 30 hours.
