The front features the most changes

The compact SUV segment is one of the hottest and freshest segment’s all over world. Not moving into the Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster zone, Mahindra also offers the Quanto in the same segment. Nothing but a shorter version of the Xylo MPV, the boxy styling and not so attractive body design of the Quanto obviously did not gel well with Indian car buyers. As a result of this, the Quanto turned out to be a massive flop in the segment which continues to grow at an exponential rate.

Mahindra is working on the Quanto facelift alongside two new products in the compact SUV segment, which go by the codenames S101 and U301. The Quanto facelift has been caught testing a few times previously revealing the changes the compact SUV will feature on the exterior front. The changes on the outside include a flatter front end with a redesigned bonnet and bumper, bigger front air dam and DRLs over the front headlight.

This time though, interiors of the Quanto facelift have now been spied revealing many details. Firstly, the interiors seem to be styled in line with Mahindra’s new design language in the same old beige colour. Many of the much welcomed changes include a new steering wheel with integrated steering mounted controls, which now looks a bit more premium; a central armrest at the front which seems to be operated by a lever; a new audio system with a cluster of buttons (not a touchscreen unit); a new instrument cluster and cruise control, which comes as a big surprise. Along with the interiors, latest spyshots also reveal a few additions to the changes on the outside like bigger 16-inch wheels and clear lens tail lamps.

The Quanto facelift will continue to be powered by the same 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder diesel engine which is tuned to produce 100 PS of power and 240 Nm of torque. However, the facelift is expected to get an AMT unit as well. The final production facelift model may even feature more changes which will only get clearer as time passes.
