Mahindra had launched the TUV300 in late 2015 and the vehicle initially came with the mHawk80 diesel engine. The automaker has now launched a more powerful version of the SUV and it comes powered by the 1.5-litre mHawk100 engine that also powers the newly-launched NuvoSport. The Mahindra TUV300 mHawk100 has been launched at a price of Rs. 8.87 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the T8 variant.

The 1.5-litre mHawk100 engine produces 100 HP of power and 240 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Apart from that, Mahindra also offers the AMT gearbox with this engine. The mHawk100 engine will be available only on the T8 and T8 AMT trims of the TUV300. The company has also improved under-thigh support in the second row.

The TUV300 will also continue to come with the mHawk80 tune and those variants will remain unchanged. Hence, only the T8 trims will get the option of mHawk80 as well as mHawk100 trims. Mahindra has sold more than 25,000 units of the vehicle ever since its launch and they introduced the more powerful tune after getting feedback from customers.

The compact SUV segment is getting increasingly popular and buyers are now spoilt for choice in this segment. The TUV300 competes with the Ford EcoSport and Maruti Vitara Brezza. The EcoSport has been selling in decent numbers while the Vitara Brezza is seeing really good response. With the introduction of the new trim, the TUV300 is now priced very close to the NuvoSport.
