The Maruti Ignis is expected to get cosmetic tweaks, with the engine likely to remain the same.

Maruti Ignis Long Term Report
The Ignis is likely to feature fresh changes to the exterior and interior

A few Nexa dealers have reported that the Maruti Ignis is undergoing a mid-cycle update. Production of the existing Ignis has been stopped because the facelift is underway but dealers are accepting bookings for the hatchback.

The refreshed Maruti Ignis is likely to get the same treatment as the recently updated Baleno. A subtle design tweak for the bumpers, new alloy wheels, and slightly updated interiors. In addition to that, the Ignis will also get Maruti Suzuki’s new SmartPlay Studio infotainment system. The stylish LED projector headlamps that are currently available only on the higher variants will be supplemental to the lower variants as well.

The hatchback isn’t bringing in huge numbers like the Baleno and Swift, with sales of 3500 units per month since its launch in 2017. The diesel version of Ignis was discontinued back in June 2018 due to low demand. The model is currently only available with the 83 BHP, 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine, which will remain in the new version as well.
