The Maruti Ignis facelift gets a BS6-spec petrol engine and some cosmetic tweaks.

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis facelift has been revealed in India at the ongoing 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi. The new model gets a fresh set of cosmetic and feature updates.

Maruti has added two new exterior colour options – Lucent Orange and Turquoise Blue – and three new dual-tone colour options – Nexa Blue with black, Lucent Orange with black, and Nexa Blue with silver.

In terms of design, the Maruti Ignis facelift gets squared chrome inserts on the grille which appears to be borrowed from the S-Presso. It also features redesigned bumpers with faux scuff plates at the rear and the front along with a blacked-out B-pillars and ORVMs with integrated indicators.

The cabin carries forward the basic design of the dashboard but the 7.0-inch touchscreen now gets Maruti’s latest SmartPlay Studio infotainment system. It features on-board navigation and responds to voice commands.

The updated Maruti Suzuki Ignis gets a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that generates 83 PS at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of torque at 4200 RPM. Even an AMT is offered with the hatchback in all trims except the base, Sigma variant. It gets a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. As for safety, the updated model gets dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, speed alerts, ABS with EBD and more.
