MG Motor India’s first-ever SUV spied, interior details revealed in spy shots.
MG Motor’s first-ever SUV in India trapped in a spy shot that reveals a lot of details. MG Motor is a subsidiary company of SAIC Motor Corporation which is a Chinese company. From the spied image it seems like the interior of MG Motor’s new SUV is premium looking while being simple at the same time.
On the interior, the dashboard gets the triple-layered layout. The upper layer gets soft touch material with sporty stitching on it. The middle layer gets a dark finish material and the bottom layer gets beige finish material. There are chrome surrounded AC vents with a space in between for the analogue clock.
There is a provision for a touchscreen infotainment system in the centre of the dashboard. The climate control switches are placed on the beige finished material. It gets two knobs to control the temperature and the fan speed with a screen in between which shows the information. Overall the interior looks minimalistic while maintaining the style.
There are sturdy looking door handles with power window switches on it. The instrument panel gets a TFT screen with twin dials for the speedometer and tachometer. The 3-spoke steering wheel gets buttons for cruise control, audio control and telephony control. In addition, it gets a push-start button, panoramic sunroof, electric parking brakes and parking camera with sensors.
The test model spied here was running on a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a CVT gearbox. MG Motor might offer a 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine from Fiat for the Indian market. The dimensions of this SUV in India will be closer to the Jeep Compass.
MG Motor India will build this car in their SAIC plant in Gujarat. Considering the fact that it will be produced in India, this SUV will cost under Rs. 20 lakhs. We still haven’t got any news on the launch date of this car but we hope to get some good news from MG Motor India soon.
