2022 Force Gurkha Front
The SUV will be updated with the new BS6 phase 2 compliant engine

New Force Gurkha to get more features

Force Motors is all set to launch an updated version of its off-roader, the Gurkha. This new model comes with more features and upgrades that will make it more practical and comply with the latest emission norms.

One of the key enhancements is the powertrain upgrade to meet the BS6 Phase 2 emission regulations. To achieve this, the carmaker is working on incorporating NOX sensors into the vehicle. It will continue with the 2.6-litre diesel engine producing 90 PS and 250 Nm torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Gurkha will also receive several new features for a more comfortable and convenient driving experience. It is is likely to have electrically adjustable ORVMs that can be folded from inside the vehicle. Additionally, it will come with a larger and better touchscreen infotainment system.

The Indian vehicle maker is also expected to offer front seat armrests and fully digital instrument cluster with an integrated Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

There will be minimal changes on the exterior. The updated Gurkha will get grills for the headlights, turn indicators and fog lights. This will add to the character of the off-roader and at the same time will be useful while off-roading to avoid damaging these lights.

Force Motors is also focusing on enhancing the Gurkha’s off-road capabilities. The suspension and 4×4 system will be upgraded as well with this update.

The updated Force Gurkha is expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of August 2023. Pricing is expected to be more or less the same. It competes with the Mahindra Thar and Maruti Jimny. They are also developing a new 5-door variant that will be launched soon.
