Bajaj Auto’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Rajiv Bajaj took home a salary of Rs. 25.59 crores for the financial year 2016-17. Rajiv Bajaj took over as the Managing Director of Bajaj Auto in 2005.

His salary for the financial year 2016-17 was up from nearly 14 percent at Rs. 22.32 crores in the previous financial year 2015-16. While the Chairman of Bajaj Auto, Rahul Bajaj (father of Rajiv Bajaj) was paid Rs. 11.42 crores for the financial year 2016-17, in the previous financial year (2015-16), he took home a salary of Rs. 11.35 crores.

Madhur Bajaj, the Vice Chairman of Bajaj Auto took home a salary of Rs. 8.45 crores for the financial year 2016-17 while the salary for the financial year 2015-16 was Rs. 8.52 crores.

As per reports, the average CEO salary at top private companies is nearly 75 to 80 times more than their public sector counterparts, which stands at just Rs. 25 to 30 lakhs. For instance, State Bank of India’s Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya got just Rs. 31.1 lakhs as salary for the 2015-16 financial year.

Bajaj, on the other hand, is gearing up to launch the Pulsar NS 160 in India next month. A completely new motorcycle, the Pulsar NS 160 will sit above the Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180.
