Renault Design Studio In India

The French group originally established its studio in Pune, Maharashtra, when it began operations in the country. Later, it opened studios in Mumbai and Chennai, but both of these have now been incorporated into the new facility.

Renault’s Strategy

Renault has previously confirmed that they will launch 5 new models over the next two years in their ‘Renaulution’ event in 2024. The introduction of ‘R-Store’ showrooms will happen simultaneously. It is a bigger step that is been taken wherein Renault has taken full control over operations in the Renault Nissan Alliance.

The RDCC is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and facilities, which will help to mobilise the design talent available in India. There is the presence of VR setups to assist 3D modelling, an 8.5m by 2.4m ‘LED wall’ for displaying designs in 1:1. Additionally, the design centre also gets virtual collaboration terminals for the establishment of communication with other design studios in real-time.

The new facility will design cars for global and Indian markets. This isn’t a herculean task, as demonstrated by the Renault R4 and R5 EVs. They were launched in collaboration with the previous Chennai studio.

Renault. Rethink

Renault has also unveiled “renault. rethink” to celebrate the inauguration of the design centre. It is a sculpture which is designed in RDCC and symbolises the integration of French and Indian cultures. It has a silhouette of an SUV with screens that show abstract patterns, which are an important part of the process. There are also words written in English and Devanagari script.
