The new compact SUVs will be well equipped with fancy features

The CMF-A+ platform based Renault and Nissan budget compact SUVs are scheduled to launch this year. The Renault HBC which is likely to be called Kiger and Nissan EM2 expected to be called Magnite are in their final stages of development.

Both the cars will share the mechanicals including platform and the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. What’s interesting to note is that these budget compact SUVs will comes with some fancy features on offer.

The Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite will get a factory fitted sunroof on offer along with automatic climate control system and steering mounted audio controls.

When launched, they’ll be the most affordable cars equipped with sunroof in the Indian market. Until now it is the Honda WR-V which carries that title.

Fun fact, no Renault and Nissan cars in India are equipped with a sunroof yet, not even the high-end models in their lineup right now.

Both the carmakers are likely to offer connected car tech as well. The Nissan Magnite is scheduled to launch in May this year while the Renault Kiger is expected in July. They will undercut the current range of compact SUVs in terms of pricing.

With the ongoing nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak, we believe they might delay the launch further as is the case with all other car launches currently.
