After the launch of Triber, Renault will be focussing on sub 4-metre SUV and electric cars in India.

Renault has recently revealed the Triber 7-seater sub 4-metre vehicle in India. Based on the CMF-A platform, the Triber will be catered to a new segment. After introducing the 7-seater vehicle in India, Renault will be shifting their focus towards a new compact SUV and electric vehicles.

The compact SUV will be a sub 4-metre product. It is expected to be underpinned by a modified CMF-A platform. The small SUV will be competing against the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon. Renault is likely to offer only a petrol engine option and no diesel.

The sub 4-metre Renault SUV is expected to get a 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor with both manual and AMT gearbox options. After the Triber, Renault plans to introduce Duster and Kwid facelifts followed by new electric vehicle and the compact SUV which is under consideration.
