When we first read the news ourselves, it was a very big *facepalm* that we suffered, which we will explain later. Apparently, the valet of the 5-star hotel Le Meridian in New Delhi crashed the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder supercar worth Rs. 3 crores. As the story points out, the owner of this Italian beauty handed over the keys to the hotel valet, who left no stone unturned in totalling the supercar.
As it seems, the guy could not anticipate the power of the Gallardo and hit the throttle with full force or gently by his understanding. This led to the car first crash into a another vehicle parked in front, heading on to crash into the concrete railing of the rampart. The hotel states that the car has been parked by the valet even before and was brought back to the porch by him without an issue. However, he suddenly lost control and crashed the supercar and has also sustained injuries in the accident.
Now, coming back to the big facepalm; firstly, who gives a supercar like the Lamborghini Gallardo to the valet. There have been several instances around the world of valet crashing vehicles on a number of occasions that you can learn from. Moreover, the accident could have been fatal for the valet or could have injured others. It is expected of the guests to come in ultra luxurious and ultra fast cars that cost a fortune to own and as a posh hotel treating elite guests, one should train the valet drivers to handle such cars with extra care.
However, we do not want to get judgemental about this, but we sure do hope that the owner of the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder had his insurance up-to-date. As unconfirmed reports suggest, the damage repair costs on the Gallardo will set the owner back by Rs. 40-50 lakhs, which is equivalent to a top of the line Mercedes C-Class. As for the valet, our sympathies go out to you. Check out the images from the crash as well as the CCTV footage that showcases the entire event in detail.
