The Volkswagen Ameo GT Line gets some cosmetic additions giving it a mild refresh.

Volkswagen Ameo GT Line Launch
Misses the GTI inspired honeycomb mesh grille offered in the new Polo and Vento GT Line versions

The Volkswagen Ameo GT Line is going to be launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the diesel version. As of now, there is no official quote from the company about the availability of its petrol alternative and its price. However, it likely to be priced at Rs. 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The 2019 Volkswagen Ameo GT Line misses the GTI-inspired honeycomb mesh grille offered in the new Polo and Vento GT Line versions launched recently. It does miss the new bumper as well. However, what it does get is a blacked-out roof, a chrome lid spoiler and ORVMs. The compact sedan comes with a GT Line badge on the front fender, 16-inch Portago alloy wheels and black-sporty decals on the doors. It also sports the new Sunset Red paint scheme.

Apart from the cosmetic upgrades, the Volkswagen Ameo GT Line carries over the same equipment from the standard Ameo’s Highline Plus variant. It gets a touchscreen system, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming IRVM, etc. Under the hood, the Ameo is offered in two engine options – a 1.0-litre petrol unit that develops 75 PS and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel TDI motor that returns 108 PS of power. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic (only diesel).
