Volkswagen has finally updated the diesel engine of the Vento with a bigger turbocharger.

Volkswagen India has silently launched the Vento with the updated 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine. The diesel engine now comes with a bigger turbo and hence it produces 108 HP (110 PS) of power, along with the same 250 Nm of torque. This engine in the same tune is also offered on the Ameo and the Skoda Rapid facelift.

The 1.5-litre diesel engine is offered with 5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG gearboxes. The manual trim has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 22.27 km/l while the DSG has produces a claimed 22.15 km/l. Apart from this, there are no other changes to the Vento and it comes with the same equipment levels.

The Volkswagen Vento is also offered with 1.2-litre TSI and 1.6-litre petrol engines. The sedan is offered in Trendline, Comfortline and Highline trims with dual front airbags being standard on all variants. The Volkswagen Vento is priced from Rs. 8.40-13.00 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), competing with the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Nissan Sunny, Fiat Linea and Renault Scala.
