According to a Volkswagen dealer, the company has halted the production of the Passat sedan in September which will now be replaced with the facelift version early 2020 with a BS6-compliant engine. As a result, Volkswagen dealers all over the country are clearing the remaining stock. As of now, the Volkswagen Passat is offered in 4 variants- Comfortline, Comfortline Connect Edition, Highline and Highline Connect Edition with prices starting at Rs. 26 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the current generation.

The Volkswagen Passat gets LED headlamps, LED DRLs, cornering lights, LED tail lamps, electric sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior features Nappa leather upholstery, analogue clock, 3-zone climate control, large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Electrically-adjustable front seats with massage and memory functions, hands-free parking and adaptive chassis control, etc. are part of the package.

Currently, the Volkswagen Passat is powered by a BS4-compliant 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine producing 175 PS and 350 Nm of torque. The powertrain is coupled with a standard DSG automatic transmission.
