Yamaha R15M Spotted
The bike gets an overall styling upgrade when compared to the R15

The Yamaha R15M launch will see the 150cc R15 range get even dearer

Yamaha is set to launch the R15M on 21st September and Yamaha dealers are stocking up the motorcycle already.

The motorcycle gets styling updates which are inspired by the new R7 supersport machine, made obvious by the centrally mounted LED headlight unit that is flanked by LED DRLs.

Yamaha has changed almost every panel of the R15 V3 to create the R15M and these include the front fender, fairing, fuel tank, side panels and rear panels. Also, the mirrors are new, the exhaust end can gets a heat shield and the tail light seems to have been updated too.

However, the changes are not only aesthetic. The Yamaha R15M comes with an inverted front fork, gold-coloured brake calipers, a larger flyscreen and even the pillion footrests have been repositioned.

Yamaha R15M Spotted Side
For some reason it has 0.25 PS lesser than the R15 V3

Thus far, the motorcycle has been spotted in 3 shades which include the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition, Racing Blue and a White with Blue combo.

When the Yamaha R15M launch takes place, expect the brand to introduce it with Bluetooth-enabled smartphone connectivity and related features.

Powering the motorcycle will be a 155cc liquid cooled motor that makes a maximum of 18.35 PS. It is not known if the torque output of the bike will be different as well. But the 6-speed transmission should stay the same.

At present the R15 costs between Rs. 1.58 lakh and Rs. 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and the R15M could cost up to Rs. 10,000/- more.
