More details of the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 emerge as its India launch nears. The SUV is likely to be available in a total of five variants – W5, W7, W9, W11 and W11 (O) and in seven different colour options – Black, Brown, Copper, Purple, Red, Silver and White. The facelifted XUV500 will come powered by an upgraded 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 155 HP of power and 360 Nm of torque. Automatic transmission will be offered on all trims as an option except for the base variant while the automatic AWD combo will be exclusive to the W11 (O) variant.

The base W5 trim is expected to get dual-tone black and grey interiors with fabric upholstery and features like follow-me-home headlights, electric ORVMs, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, dual HVAC, power windows, remote tailgate, rear wiper and defogger, reading lamps, mobile charging points in first row seats and foldable second and third row seats. In addition to the above, the W7 trim is reported to come with a chrome grille, tan and black coloured interiors with piano black centre console, automatic climate control, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, rear parking sensors, conversation mirror, entry-assist lamp and a smart key with remote.

The W9 variant adds 17-inch alloy wheels, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, driver side auto roll down window, telescopic steering, reverse parking camera with dynamic assist, door ajar warning (driver only) and mobile charging points in first as well as second row seats. The range-topping W11 trim, in addition to the above, to get optional 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, illuminated scuff plates, leather-wrapped dashboard and door trims, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, puddle lamps, door ajar warning, camping lamp and bonnet with hydraulic assist.
