The popular entry-level MPV Maruti Eeco now comes with ABS, EBD and has an airbag for the driver.
Maruti has launched the 2019 Eeco which comes updated with safety features. The 2019 Maruti Eeco is priced from Rs. 3.55-4.65 lakhs, (ex-showroom, Delhi). With the latest safety norms which have come into effect from the 1st of April 2019, the Eeco comes at a very right time.
The 2019 Maruti Eeco now gets the mandatory safety upgrades like ABS, EBD and an airbag on the driver-side. Driver assistance features include reverse parking sensors, front seat-belt reminder and a high-speed alert system. The Tour V trim of the Eeco which is mostly used by fleet vehicle operators gets a speed limiter which replaces the high-speed alert system. The interior also gets changes in the form of a new steering wheel which is borrowed from the Alto. The new steering wheel allows placement of the airbag inside it, which is an important safety criterion to meet the strict norms.
Mechanically, the Maruti Eeco is the same. Under the hood, it gets the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 73 BHP and 101 Nm of torque. Maruti also offers a CNG variant which makes 63 BHP and 85 Nm of torque. Both the variants are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is available in different seating formats like 5-seater and 7-seater. Not only this, but the Eeco is also offered as a cargo vehicle where the rear seats are removed for the added cargo space.
