2016 BMW G310R Details
The entry level BMW does look gorgeous in flesh

Another day, another set of leaked images of the much awaited BMW G310R bike emerge courtesy of Facebook Group CBR (Chennai Bike Riders). The entry level BMW-TVS project has been spied so many times, it looks like the company has given up on the traditional camouflaging its prototypes altogether. The new litany of images go much further than previous grainy videos and photos and reveal a whole lot of new information about the upcoming bike, courtesy of the test rider.

The BMW G310R sportsbike has been caught testing on the Bangalore-Chennai Highway minus any camouflage. The high quality close up images reveal many interesting tid-bits about the bike which is expected to be launched soon in the festive season. The G310R will be the first locally made product to be sold via BMW Motorrad’s dealerships, and will be manufactured at the TVS facility situated in Hosur. TVS will also export the bike to many Southeast Asian and Latin American markets.

The spy shots of the bike reveal many new details about the product. The motorcycle will sport Michelin rubber and will have a top speed of around 160 km/hr. The G310R is reported to have fuel efficiency figures in the range of 25-28 km/l. Keen eyed viewers will observe that the bike has no ABS pulsar ring near its disc brakes. This indicates that the bike being tested is either the lower variant without the ABS feature or the ABS ring has been hidden very effectively in the whole assembly, as we already know that the bike will be equipped with ABS.

The BMW G310R will be powered by a 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing power of around 34 BHP at 9500 RPM and torque of 28 Nm at 7500 RPM, matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The innovative single-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts uses a backward-tilted cylinder and intake tract positioned at the front. Expect the bike to cost around Rs. 2.5 lakhs and it will take on the KTM Duke 390 and Kawasaki Z250.
