2019 Ford Figo Review Test Drive
The Ford Figo AT is priced at Rs. 7.69 lakhs, ex-showroom

As per a leaked document that has surfaced online, Ford India has discontinued the sale of the Ford Figo and Ford Aspire automatic variants in India. Both models were available in the Titanium trim only and will be officially dropped from the brand’s website on 15th January. On top of that, even the Absolute Black and Deep Impact Blue shades will be dropped from the portfolio.

The Ford Figo and Aspire automatic trims get the same 1.5-litre Dragon petrol engine that does duty on the EcoSport. It produces 123 PS of power and 150 Nm of torque while being mated to a 6-speed torque converter. While the reason for discontinuation is uncertain, Ford might reintroduce the automatic transmission in the 1.2-litre variants. It could allow the brand to price both products aggressively and position themselves in a lower tax bracket.

The Ford Figo AT is priced at Rs. 7.69 lakhs while the Aspire automatic is priced at Rs. 9.10 lakhs (both prices, ex-showroom). The hatchback rivals the Maruti Suzuki Swift, the Volkswagen Polo, and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. Meanwhile, the sub-4 metre sedan locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the Volkswagen Ameo, the upcoming Hyundai Aura, the Honda Amaze and the Tata Tigor.
