Hyundai Creta led India’s car sales in April 2025 with 17,016 units
Hyundai’s Creta SUV has secured its position as the best-selling passenger vehicle in India for the second consecutive month, marking a notable achievement for the South Korean automaker. In April 2025, Hyundai recorded sales of 17,016 units of the Creta, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 10.2% compared to April 2024.
The Creta’s strong performance also extended across the first four months of the year. Between January and April 2025, total sales of the model reached 69,914 units, making it the top-selling SUV in the Indian market during this period.
Hyundai’s SUV lineup in India currently includes the Exter, Venue, Alcazar, Tucson and the Creta. The company reported that SUVs made up a record 70.9% of its domestic vehicle sales in April, underlining a growing consumer preference for this segment.
The brand attributes the Creta’s continued success not only to its popularity in the conventional SUV space but also to the recent introduction of an electric variant. Hyundai believes this addition has reinforced the model’s appeal and contributed to its role in promoting electric mobility in India.
By maintaining strong sales momentum, the Creta has become a cornerstone of Hyundai’s domestic portfolio, signalling a shift in consumer demand and the evolving dynamics of the Indian automotive market.
