Just like other automakers, Hyundai too has started offering airbags and ABS on more variants of the Eon, Grand i10 and Xcent now.

Hyundai Eon 1.0 Test Drive Review
The Eon comes with an optional driver airbag on all trims except D-Lite

Hyundai recently made headlines when they made ABS and dual front airbags standard on all trims of the Verna, Elite i20 and i20 Active. Now, the Korean automaker has revised the equipment lists of the Eon, Grand i10 and Xcent too, thus adding safety features to most of the trims of these 3 vehicles.

Talking about the Eon, the vehicle now gets an optional driver side airbag on all trims except the base D-Lite variant. The top Sportz variant comes with a standard driver side airbag. Rest everything remains unchanged on the Eon and it continues to come with a choice of 2 petrol engines – 800cc and 1.0-litre.

Moving to the Grand i10, the Asta trim has now been deleted from the line-up while the Asta(O) variant is still available. Driver side airbag is now standard on all variants of the vehicle while a passenger side airbag is offered from the Sportz variant onwards. The Grand i10 now features only 4 trims – Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta(O).

The Xcent has been coming with standard ABS since a while now and now Hyundai is offering a driver side airbag on all trims while the SX and SX(O) trims also come with an airbag for the front passenger. Almost all automakers have now started offering safety features as standard across their entire product range before the new norms kick in from 2017.
