The Ciaz now appears more feature rich, while the engines continue to be underpowered

After initially showcasing the variants at the launch in October last year, Maruti Suzuki has finally introduced the ZXi+ and ZDi+ trims on the Ciaz sedan priced at Rs. 9.08 lakhs and Rs. 10.37 lakhs respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new top-of-the-line variants on the sedan, the Ciaz is now even more feature loaded with the all-new SmartPlay infotainment, improved interiors and more creature comforts added to the list. The engine options don’t see any changes though. The Z (O) variants have been discontinued.

The Maruti Ciaz ZXi+ and ZDi+ come loaded with the 7-inch Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system with navigation that also doubles up as a display unit for the reverse camera. In addition, the variants get 16-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob. Additional features that come standard include projector headlamps, electrically adjustable ORVMs, keyless entry, start-stop function, steering mounted audio controls, rear air-con vents, automatic climate control, rear sun shades, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags with ABS and EBD as standard.

Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Z+ variants continue to draw power from the 1.4-litre K-Series petrol motor producing 92.45 PS of power and 130 Nm of torque, while the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel unit is tuned to produce 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. Both the engines come paired to a 5-speed manual transmission; while the petrol version also gets a 4-speed automatic transmission on offer. With the excise duty hike, prices for the 2015 Ciaz now start from Rs. 7.21 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base petrol version.
