Skoda continues to top the luxury sedan list with the Superb.
The Automobile industry is still in a very shallow position as per the sales. The trend doesn’t seem to change much because all the manufacturers are still facing declining sales for their offerings. Although, as in comparison with the last month, it is in a relatively better position.
First, we talk about the compact sedan segment. The Maruti Dzire, once again bags the first position, however, this time with a positive YoY of 12%. Our speculation in the previous article of ‘Top Selling Sedans In September 2019’ turned out to be true. The second place is claimed by the Honda Amaze with a slight reduction in units from 5542 (October 2018) to 5134 (October 2019). This time around, the worst hit is received by the Ford Aspire with a 79% decline in the sales figure.
In the executive sedan segment, the Maruti Ciaz replaces the last month’s top seller, the Honda City by 484 units. Likewise, the Hyundai Verna, once again isn’t far behind, falling short of 197 units only! The only car to have a positive YoY in this division is the Volkswagen Vento with a 52% YoY figure. As per the continuing trend, the Fiat Linea is stagnant with 0 on the board.
In the premium sedan segment, the Honda Civic tops with 436 units. The Skoda Octavia is the only one out of the bunch to witness a positive YoY of 24%. Even the total number of sales see a rise from 679 units (September 2019) to 816 units (October 2019).
At last, we have the luxury sedan segment. The Skoda Superb tops the chart with 152 units. Right after this is the Toyota Camry which sees a massive growth of 738%! Volkswagen, however, manages to just get one Passat out of the showroom this month.
