Volkswagen India plans to scale up production capacity at its manufacturing facility in Chakan, Maharashtra to 1,10,000 units in the next three years as it forecasts growing sales on the backdrop of the successful launch of its Polo. All the production would meet the domestic demand and the company has no plans to export the cars rolling out from this unit. The company sold 1,564 and 3,039 cars in 2008 and 2009, respectively across the country.
