Providing an additional assurance of after sales and service, Volkswagen India has revealed the prices for extended warranty applicable for the Polo, Vento, Jetta and Passat models currently sold in the country, leaving the flagship Phaeton sedan and Touareg SUV. Customers choosing for the extended warranty can opt for an additional 1 year/ 80,000 kms or 2 years / 1,00,000 kms. The extended warranty actually helps customers to have trouble free maintenance throughout the ownership period.

The extended warranty for the Polo petrol will set you back by Rs. 5346/- for a period of one year, while choosing to opt for a two year warranty period will cost buyers Rs. 12,723/-. The extended warranty on the Polo GT models is marginally expensive than the regular models, with the charges for the TSI variant costing up to Rs. 6878/- and Rs. 8216/- for the TDI variant, per year. All prices will attract an additional service tax of 12.36 percent or as applicable.

Volkswagen has a slew of updates lined up this year. The company will first update the Polo hatchback with a facelift and the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder diesel unit will be replaced by a newly developed 1.5-litre diesel engine. The company’s next launch will be the updated Vento which will feature the new 1.5-litre diesel engine, mated to a DSG gearbox, apart from a 5-speed manual on offer. The company is expected to add extra kit and features on the inside, while making the vehicles more fuel efficient.

Volkswagen vehicles are known to be expensive on maintenance and the warranty will actually help keep the maintenance costs in check for the customers.
