Yamaha has showcased a fanatical-looking concept bike at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Hyper-Slaz concept. The Hyper-Slaz is based on the M-Slaz (naked variant of the R15) but takes the naked streetfighter design several degrees higher with its aggressive design elements and premium hardware. Usually, a concept bike previews a future production version but here Yamaha has taken the reverse approach. The company has managed to bring out a concept out of the already existing M-Slaz. If sources are to be believed, the production version of the Hyper-Slaz is highly unlikely to make it to India.

The concept bike sports a lean and mean look and follows a dark theme with contrast red highlights across the body. Red has been strategically used on the suspension, engine bay components, seat cowl and brake and clutch levers. While the headlamp (actually look closer, there is no headlamp at all) houses an action camera, the other design highlights worth mentioning are the sharp bodywork on the fuel tank and the massively raked out sub-frame with the fang-like LED tail-light. The instrument console looks too basic for a concept bike but nevertheless has a distinctive design.

Underpinnings include inverted forks up front and an Ohlins monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are via petal discs at both the ends and the concept bike gets Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres (both for the front and rear wheel).
