Toyota Yaris Discontinued
The Yaris never really set the sales chart on fire

Has Toyota discontinued the Yaris to make way for the Belta?

The Toyota Yaris C-segment sedan has been discontinued in India with effect from today (27th September 2021).

An official statement from Toyota Kirloskar Motor states that the discontinuation of the Yaris is a part of the brand’s product strategy to “continue to cater to the ever-evolving needs of the customer through enhanced technologies and product offerings.”

The brand has also thanked customers who have purchased the Yaris and said it will “continue to seamlessly cater to all Yaris customers’ needs through our dealer service outlets across the country.”

In addition, the Japanese firm has also assured that genuine spare parts for the Yaris will be available in India for a minimum of 10 years from now.

With the Yaris discontinued, Toyota claims it remains committed to “delivering ever-better cars with the most advanced and sustainable technologies to the Indian customers.”

The automaker has announced that it will launch new models “in the coming New Year 2022,” while also refreshing its product portfolio in the future to “meet the evolving customer choices and enable a greener mobility.”

Although Toyota has not officially stated this, among the new models which will be launched by Toyota in India will include the Belta, also a C-segment sedan which is a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
